Remember Buddy? The rookie dog that was abandoned by it's owner when they moved out of the village. They moved to another village down the road but did not take him with them. Being a dog, he is faithful and went to his ex-owner's place often to visit them. Guessed what! Buddy is physically in a dire state now, about a month ago, we saw him limping badly and asked the lady who was walking him. (This lady is very kind to the village dogs, she will come to the village and feed the village dogs and walk them whenever she has time-off from her work. She told us that Buddy was brutally hit by a man in the other village where Buddy's ex-owner lives. The story went like this. The cruel man asked Buddy's ex-owner whether Buddy was their dog, the ex-owner denied. The man then went ahead and hit Buddy. According to the kind lady's story, there was an eye-witness, it was the ex-owner's domestic helper who refused to come out and identify the cruel man. The kind lady managed to find an adopter for Buddy in another village, this adopter is known as Mr Yeung. We bumped into him many times walking a limping Buddy. We thought that Buddy is going to get better, but instead, the last we heard from Mr Yeung was, Buddy was constantly whinning, so he took Buddy to the vet for a checkup. To his dismay, the vet told him that Buddy is in great pain and have to have surgery done on his hip/leg. The bone is jutting out and causing Buddy alot of pain. The surgery will cost about HKD 20,000 plus!!! Mr Yeung's friends are raising money for Buddy's surgery. Mr Yeung told us that the cruel man hit Buddy while it was asleep near the ex-owner's house. My gosh! such cruelty! I really hope someone could id him and let the law deal severely with this man! The latest news we heard, Buddy is scheduled for surgery next week! Hooray! We will pray for a sucessful surgery and speedy recovery for Buddy.
