Happy, borned in Aug 2007, she was adopted from an animal rescue shelter on 4th Nov 2007 @ 9 weeks of age. She is a tri-color mixed breed dog aka mongrel aka 'Tong kau' in cantonese. Most of the time, she is very sweet until her tiny streak of stubborness rear it's head occasionally.
She is so full of expressions one wonders if she is a human! Hahahaha....of course she is just a dog! She is a very quiet dog and only barks when neccessary. Her barks are very loud, deep and powerful which makes me jump whenever she is alerting us to something. She doesn't like to be petted on the head and on the rump, because to a canine, petting on the head is a rude gesture, it is like telling it that you are trying to dominate it. The friendliest way to pet a dog is to gently scratch the side of it's chin or even the side of the body. Try not to bend over the dog or stare at it while petting it. It feels intimidated when a human bends over and stare at it. It is very threatening to them. Gosh! I got carried away... ok, back to Happy, on walks, when she is allowed to be off-leashed, she loves to show us all the places that has interesting smell, of course, smell which only a dog can smell ...hahaha..along the way, she will also point her head and body towards the places that we have been before, indicating that we have been there, kind of hard to explain, you'll have to watch her in order to understand what I'm saying.
She adores hikes and long walks and loves running freely with the wind in her ears...I think she simply loves to run and she runs fast! I think it must be the greyhound blood in her, though she doesn't look anything like it! hahahaha
She is a very inquisitive and alert dog, she likes to know what is happening at all times and she will investigate all the things that we bring home, including the clothes on our body! Mine, we call her a busybody! Even when I open some drawers, she will stick her nose in their to check things out! Sometimes she gets on our nerves, but overall she is a very good and obedient dog. We couldn't ask for more!
